Have you ever thought that you have done something too terrible for God to forgive you? I have, and so did Janie, one of the main characters from, Harvesting Hollywood.
“Both Janie’s parents and Jake loved God deeply, and they did their best to live for Him in all they said and did. Janie had been that way too as a little girl, loving the Lord and walking with Him. But that had been years and years ago. She’d made some pretty ugly choices and felt like God didn’t want her around anymore.” She even thought to herself,
“If she had been better in high school, would God have not punished her like this?”
Lie that Janie was believing: God will never forgive me. He couldn’t. He is going to forget about me and maybe even leave me. I have let him down too many times.
Truth of what God says:
I am forgiven. “God is faithful and reliable.. If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong. I John 1:9
I am free from condemnation. I cannot be separated from God’s love. Romans 8:31-39
